Downeast Pilates offers group mat classes and private or semi-private instruction on mat and  all of the major apparatus including the trapeze table (cadillac), reformer, Wunda chair and  barrel.  A typical session begins on the mat or reformer and progresses to other apparatus  depending on individual needs.  Downeast Pilates follows the classical Pilates method that was developed by Joseph Pilates.

Pilates is for all ages and fitness levels.  No previous experience is necessary as the  program is based on levels of fitness from beginner to advanced.

Pilates is an exercise system designed to increase flexibility and strength for the body  without building bulk. Pilates is a safe and stimulating workout for men and women of all  ages. Its protective of the joints and all the exercises stay in the frame of the body. It will help the stiff to become flexible. It will help the supple individual gain strength and control.  Overall, it is a great way to achieve health.

Pilates can improve your Golf game! Pilates focuses on developing core strength, from your  shoulders to the pelvis, which is vital for golfers and othr athletes.  Pilates can help you to hit longer drives and avoid injuries.
